Rotarian Kirk Anderson receives a Paul Harris +1 pin from the St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls Rotary Club for community service in his roles as a Rotarian, mayor, volunteer firefighter, and first responder.
 
(St. Croix Falls, WI) On June 21, 2023, Rotarian Kirk Anderson (Rotary eClub of Cultural Exchange Enthusiasts, District 5960) was presented with a Paul Harris +1 pin by Rtn. Warren White and Club President Deborah Lind-Schmitz of the St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls Rotary Club.  Kirk Anderson is a former member of the St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls Rotary Club (2008-2017) before helping charter Rotary District 5960's first eClub. He has been an active member of the Rotary eClub of Cultural Exchange Enthusiasts, District 5960 since 2017.
 
Kirk is married with 5 kids and owns a small business located in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Kirk was appointed to the St. Croix Falls City Council in February 2018, then elected to a full 2-year term in April 2018 through 2020. Kirk ran for the office of Mayor in 2020 and was elected in April 2020 for a 2-year term.  He was re-elected in 2022 his term ends in April 2024.
 
In Kirk's tenure as mayor, the city has made revitalization and infrastructure improvements a high priority. With the goal of not raising property taxes on the citizens of St. Croix Falls, the city has implemented significant improvements to the infrastructure of the city's water, sewer, and road, added new public safety (police and fire) vehicles and equipment, public works equipment, encouraged a stronger focus on tourism, business development, and economic growth, he continues to work to keep the hospital in the city limits, expanded recreation (hiking, biking, ATV/UTV) opportunities, and the supported the incorporation of the arts in public spaces. To deal with the housing crisis and workforce housing, he has intentionally sought the development of new market-rate and affordable housing.
 
Kirk has been a volunteer firefighter and first responder since 2015. He is a certified firefighter in the state of Wisconsin and a nationally registered Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Volunteer firefighters are on call 24/7, 365 days a year. His day may include a house fire, car accident, rock fall, or a medical emergency.
 
The St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls Rotary Club chose to recognize Kirk's continuous volunteer spirit with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition for going above and beyond within his community as an active husband, father, Rotarian, city mayor, Firefighter, and First Responder.
