Mark Berger – Topic: East Timor - Precious People

Mark Berger, District 5960 Assistant Governor, Rotary Club of Barron County Sunrise East Timor Leste - Precious People in a Country of Need

“We have all seen poverty in our own country or while traveling on vacation throughout the world. A Rotary team-based tour will open a person’s eyes as one sees things firsthand. Timor Leste has a unique story leading up to its independence just 19 years ago in May 2002. I hope to tell you of the people and their quest to better themselves in a fairly new country. Touring an orphanage, a young adult school, and a hospital were all eye-openers. See you soon!”
