Dr Daniel DeJoode is a plant ecologist and works as an environmental consultant. Most of his work has been some aspect of environmental impact assessment, but he has some experience with ecological restoration, including in his own yard. He has been converting one of my flower beds to a wildflower garden and planting wildflowers along the edge of a pond in the back. He has discovered that planting natives, either from seeds or established plants isn't as easy as putting out tomatoes in one's garden.

From Dr. DeJoode's professional work, he is managing permitting of a large solar facility planned for southern Minnesota. This project will plant a pollinator mix under the solar panels to obtain Minnesota certification of "habitat friendly solar." He could describe large scale efforts to restore pollinator habitat that compliments what we can do in our yards or communities.
